Notes
No project-specific greenfield capex was found in official owner/developer or NSW government sources. AGL's pipeline page identifies Awaba Battery as a proposed ~50 MW battery in NSW and notes development approval in December 2023. The NSW Planning Portal confirms a 50 MW / 100 MWh battery energy storage facility and approval on 22/12/2023. Capex should be treated as unknown until a project-specific investment announcement is located. For operating assumptions, AEMO's 2024 review gives 2-hour BESS fixed O&M of A$8,000/MW-year and 20-year technical life; the lower 1-hour figure is A$5,400/MW-year. I used the 1-hour figure only as a conservative placeholder because Awaba is a 2-hour battery but the 2-hour figure is more directly comparable if a single-point benchmark is required.
